It is the only book of the bible that promises us a special blessing if we read it and try to understand it and yet it is probably the most unread book. Hopefully here, we can begin to unlock the mysteries and receive the blessing that is promised. I truly believe that if the Lord tarries, it is possible that we will see various aspects of the book of Revelation come true before our very eyes. What a great time to be alive to see these prophecies come together.
Like solving a big puzzle that gets easier as you study and put pieces together. Revelation is really a continuation of the book of Daniel. Daniel is part 1 and Revelation is part 2 that goes into greater detail. Revelation 6-20 describes a series of wars culminating in the campaign of Armageddon. Remember that we are in a battle, so, God uses veiled language to keep the secrets of the battlefield. Even though the outcome is sure, there are battles to be won and lost and God wants to keep the casualties as low as possible. God is the master chess player and battlefield commander. Why not keep Satan guessing and having to prepare for multiple scenarios? This spreads his forces thin and not as effective.
This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ (who is He?) (Can you handle who He is?) (He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. He is God)
A Promised Blessing-only book in the Bible to offer such a blessing by reading and heeding the words in it. Why miss out on it?
The division of the Book-it is mostly chronological. However, there are some chapters that seem to be summaries of the entire tribulation period such as Revelation 12. Each chapter can stand on its own but then be part of an overall theme.
We must use a literal interpretation unless otherwise specified (if you go with a symbolic or metaphorical interpretation then everyone has their own interpretation which renders them all useless.
Daniel and Revelation go hand in hand. Revelation goes into greater detail of what Daniel already describes. Arnold Fruchtenbaum and Andy Woods have great books on Revelation and will give you a great starting point to understand them. Andy Woods has a great online series on the entire book of Revelation that goes into great detail on each verse.
